Meg
Tell us about your band days.
Oh those were the days!! Being is a band is
like having another family. Some things were very trying, but all in all I
had a blast. So many great memories and some really interesting
experiences. When Sal and I were in a band together, that was the best
time. I went on the road with another band, which to say the least, had
it's very trying moments. And of course it's always a rush playing with
good musicians!
What's your favourite song(s) to perform?
I would say "I'm Sorry" and "Sound of Silence"
because we've been singing those songs for so long, they are almost as
natural as breathing. They have a lot of memories attached to them.

Describe a memorable moment on stage.
I would have to say performing "White Christmas"
at the Bunkhouse restaurant two years ago. Our dad had passed away earlier
on in that year, and that song always reminded me of him. I was having a
really hard time getting through it, basically bawling from the very start!
My tambourine was hanging off my keyboards and halfway through the song, it
fell to the ground. Well, that definitely smartened me up and I was able to
finish the song with a little help from dad!
How was the studio experience for you?
It was a lot of work. I didn't realize just how
much until I got into it. Luckily we had some very experienced and
understanding people to work with, so it was very positive. I loved being
able to throw in as many harmonies as I wanted and it was such a neat
process to take a bare bones song and add life to it. I'd love to do it
again!!
Who were/are your musical
inspirations/influences?
I don't know why this question stumps me. One
performer that comes to mind is Madonna. She was such a trail blazer for so
many female artists and a very smart business woman. One person who
inspires me to sing better is my vocal teacher. She's an amazing musician.
Has music always been a big part of your
life?
Oh yes, we always had music in our house since
mom and dad were both musicians. I can't imagine not performing and
singing. It's what I love to do.
Besides the band/duo scene, what else have
you been involved in musically?
I was involved with a supper club troupe as well
as singing blues and jazz with a small group. I've also been involved with
various choirs and worked in the studio on different projects.
What artist dead/alive would you love to
meet/perform with?

Hmm...let's see. Gosh there's so many. I would
love to meet Elton John, just to sit and watch him play the piano. He's
great. I think Tina Turner would be awesome to perform with-her energy!
How do you feel when you are on stage?
Like coming home.
If you could play another instrument what
would it be?
Definitely the bass guitar. I just think
it's such a cool instrument and it would really add to our show. I've
also always wanted to learn how to play the Sax.
What's in your CD player right now?
Right now? "What a day" by Fred Penner. My
kids love it. Hey, you asked!!
Walk on By cd - Gary Gilbert
What's it like performing with your
sister?
Boy that's a loaded question! I don't think
there's anything more special than siblings performing together and I've
been lucky enough to experience this. It's this amazing connection that
really is hard to describe. There are lots of times I've been brought
to tears just singing a certain song or even a particular note. Sal
said to me at one gig that we really have to cherish our time on stage
and that's so true. I know we get frustrated with each other at times,
but hey, that's pretty normal. I have to say out of all the performing
I've done singing with Sal is the most satisfying to me and I'm very
thankful that we have such a special connection.
Are you working on any original
material right now?
No, I'm not. Maybe when my life gets a
little less hectic, whenever that is, I'll get back into it. I'd really
like Sal and I to try some joint writing, since we've never done this.
It would be interesting to see what we could do.

Future musical plans/goals/dreams?
I would love to do another CD with our own
music. I would also like us to do a tour of Europe one day, what an
experience that would be! The main goal though is just to keep singing
with my sister for as long as we can!
